About me

My favorite part of Pet Training is seeing a family’s surprise when they make that connection with their best friend and through patience, respect, caring and positive reinforcement training, they create a life long relationship.

I love all breeds of dogs but I guess if I had to pick my favorites it would be Labradors and Hound Dogs which I lived with almost my whole life.

In addition to working as a private dog trainer, I was a Human Resources and Training Director with The Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region for 16 years before I retired.  I have also worked as a Naturalist teaching families about conservtion and animals.  I have a combined total of 25 years of experience training people and dogs.

My Education

The University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Conservation Education and a minor in Psychology.

Humane Domain’s Level 1 and Level 2 Animal Behavior and Training Internship program under Debbie Winkler, CPDT-KA, CABC and former President and Vice President of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.

Peaceable Paws Level 1 Internship with nationally and internationally known Trainer, Pat Miller, CPDT-KA, CDBC and former President of the Association for Pet Dog Trainers.

Animal Behavior College with Honors.  One of the most well known Dog Training Schools both nationally and internationally.)
